HIGH QUALITY
Gears can be ground to a high quality on one of our specialist gear grinding machines at our Auckland based facility, our capacity includes a large modern CNC gear grinder. Sometimes what may look like a perfect gear tooth to the naked eye could in fact perform worse in service than a gear that has not been ground. This could be due to lead and profile errors that are often associated with gear grinding and this is why the process must be combined with high quality inspection for it to be successful.
AGMA, BS, DIN
All standards can be covered when inspecting gears. Most commonly used are, AGMA, BS and DIN. With these standards loaded onto the database on our computer they are easily accessed and compared to actual physical measurements.
GEAR INSPECTION
Our Maag SP 130 specialised gear inspection machine is able to measure gear lead, tooth profile and tooth pitch errors within microns. It's measuring capacity ranges from 50 m/m dia. up to 1300 m/m dia and can accept gears weighing up to 2 tonnes. The accuracy required for gears to operate properly is often underestimated, in particular the gear tooth profile.
